Alaska 2013, Day 28, Tok to Palmer

120 mi Tok to Glenallen, about 3 hours.  There was some bad road here.

Ran into some rain then the sun came out but the wildfire smoke haze hid the Wrangells.

Galkana was running fast and muddy.  Gakona looked a little clearer.  Saw one guy fishing the Gakona at the bridge.

The Tesoro Hub at Glenallen was totally jammed.  Picked up some Thai food from a truck at the hub.

Glen Highway through Glenallen is all torn up with one way traffic with a pilot car.

Once we got up top the sun was out and it cleared up.  I don't remember all the mountains through here in 2008 but I think we came through in the rain.  There are great views to the south from Lake Louise Rd all the way west. Hazy due to smoke but really amazing. Matanuska Glacier is close enough that it is clear.

We saw smoke haze from just north of lake Kluane all the way to Palmer.

Long Lake had 8 boats on it and the ramp parking lot was full.

We didn't want to go into Anchorage and needed to do laundry so we stopped in Palmer, Mountain View CG.
